Oh man!.... I cant wait... It was so difficult not to just jump up and leave today even though I technically could have. Leaving SoCal at ~6am, hoping to be at the track by the 11:15am Peter Brock Autograph session

Exciting to see all of you converging just north of us. We are just back from a week in Kaiser Wilderness and will be leaving Paso early Saturday morning to get in the corral before 9 am. Going to be an amazing weekend seeing all these great machines and those who build and run them

Totally random, but I met the couple (Pat and Cal Craner) who drove and sold the yellow Roadster. Was on a little drive with my son to see Mt Saint Helen's, pulled out and he came right to my car like a magnet. He didn't even look at the viewpoint. Told me all about his car and how he'd sold 4 or 5 Roadsters (including the yellow one) and a trailer full of extra parts just a month earlier. He walked around my car several times and was like, I have this part for you and this one and this one. Gave me his number and told me to give him a call and he'd hook me up. He also told me to head down to Monterey and check out his car. Wish I was there. Thanks Alvin for sharing these pictures and video. It's like I'm there

Gotta say this now.... Pre-apologies and thanks if my car doesn't start for the parade and a fellow Roadster person gives me a hand! (I have my roadtrip emergency box packed.... starting fluid and battery boost box! Despite a brand new battery! Haha!) I dunno, carburetors and me still don't get along. Hahahaha. Dave Premo, up for a trackside rebuild of my Solexes? (Kidding.... your earlier diagnoses of my issues were spot on! I'll have to hit you up for your services following RMMR!)

If not for my wife's back-to-school-this-week schedule (she's an educator), we'da been there from last weekend's pre-Reunion (which is usually when we go since it's not so crazy). In any event, looking forward to seeing you all Sunday!!

Oh no! What happened!? (You tell me your story and I'll tell you mine.... groan...)

I posted this morning's roadster pic earlier. Following that, started the car and noticed engine was weak cranking despite brand new battery installed yesterday. Packed up the car then decided to do a little cleaning/detailing. Hour later, went to start the car to put back in the garage. Weak crank. Shot some starting fluid into the carbs (see last note). Crank, crank, then NOTHING. Starter is gronked. Fehhhhhhhh... every time I want to get the roadster to an event, something comes up. (Not car related until now.)

But ya, my nagging thoughts and tortured decision to take another car all this week - just in case - was apparently made for me.

Oh well, still gonna be there! Thought about taking the 240Z but while it is 100% mechanically sound, drivetrain wise (better be after what I put into it!), I've not really shaken it down on anything more than 20-25 mile jaunts as there's always something else I want to do to it so.... guess I'll be representing for the slim Z33 crowd.

He was not seen doing his usual "wiper/gopher" duties at the Zcar Garage tent.
