Hello from Copenhagen - Denmar

Post by Bofolmer »

Hello all, Just a short introduction: I am the proud owner of a 1967 model, bought in Holland, imported from California about 4 years ago.
First and second season spent refurbishing brakes and steering, getting a registration, and now running the car in the best summer we've had for years in Denmark.
Current issues:
I need a new relay for the headlights. It is fitted with a Matsuhita relay - any advice for replacement?
I need a new speedometerpinion - 16 teeth as far as I know. Datsunspares are out - any suggestions?
Heater fan does not work - no clue if it is dead or just without power...

I may have met some of you in the Solvang summit last summer - and hope to be able to join again sometime..
Best regards,

Folmer

Welcome! Always nice to have owners chime in from around the world.
Regarding your parts needs, I suggest you review the list of vendors on this site and contact them direct... for example, it is likely Ross at Sports Imports in Canada will have what you need!

You bought the car from Richard? If so I would contact him.

The headlight relay can be placed with a Bosch style relay if you don't care about how it looks. See the wiki on here for how to do it.

To test the heater motor you can hook 12 volt power directly to the blue wire.

Thanks all, for helping out. Found a relay which should work - and will check heater as suggested.
Car was bought from a ducth Dealer - the origin before that I do not know much about - it had a California license plate and registration. I'll lookup the name of previous owner and see if he /she is a part of this community.

Welcome. I was in Copenhagen this spring and found it to be a wonderful city. It is on my list to revisit. As has been mentioned before, stay close to this forum. The people have a lot of experience fixing whatever may be wrong with your car and I've found people to be generous with their online help.

Welcome. Take a pic of your car and post it here if you can . Plus any of the sights in Denmark as you are out driving around.
We are all used to Solvang but you can provide some real pictures :)

Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.
