The Jim Fitzgerald 280zx

Post by Alvin »

The Jim Fitzgerald 280zx is safe and sound at the shop!
Today we visited Adam Corolla's garage and trailered the Fitzy Z from Burbank with the help of Les From Classic Datsun Motorsports.

Nice! I got to see that car when I stopped by Les's shop a few years ago on one of my San Diego visits.

Best of luck to all.

Cheers

Feelin' old... the Sharp cars - and the IMSA GTU 280Z with the yellow/red/brown livery in particular - were current when I worked for Datsun (not Nissan, D-A-T-S-U-N!) and racing my D-Prod SRL! I remember all of them like it was yesterday.

And I'm not even that old, really. Hahahahaha.

Thanks for the share, Alvin!

1 year later...the Fitzy car is accepted to run at the Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca!

We have started race-prepping the ZX. Here is a dyno video, enjoy!

Alvin , thanks for sharing! That video of Fitzy is hilarious... shame all the factory Datsuns couldnt beat an old Jag haha Im guessing that Jim was trying to send a message, but it still wasnt enough to take the chequered flag
