While the body’s off at paint, I’m now planning on working on the exhaust. Now it’s time to search the forum the right muffler and setup for me. Any suggestions out there? I’m running a stock 1600 and I’m looking for a good sound out the tip. I don’t want it quiet but also not super loud and obnoxious. Anyway suggestions are welcome. Thanks

A new development yesterday. Work was progressing on the car at the painters and then I got a call from him. He had to give my car back to me before he finished it. He was working out of his house shop but got a job offer at a business he couldn’t refuse. So he had to stop work. He body worked the front fenders, hood, doors, cowl, and got them in primer. I picked it and brought it home. On a positive note, because he didn’t finish he didn’t charge me anything for the work he completed or his materials.
Brought it to two shops today for estimates to finish the work. I was happy with what one said and will bring it to them to finish.

I hope you offered him something for his time and materials, it looks like what he did, he did well. Maybe it's just me, but I would certainly insist on offering him something.
"When all else fails, force prevails!" Ummm, we're gonna need a bigger hammer here.
+1 unless you've done it, you have no idea of how much work it is!

The long awaited day has arrived. The second painter is now done with the body and ready for me to pick it up. I knew from the get go there was a possibility it was going to take a long time to get it done. I’m just happy I could find a shop willing to compete another’s work. They told me when I dropped it off that insurance work would take priority. I’ve been down once a month to see the progress. I’ve been busy doing the exhaust and cleaning up various parts while waiting for the body to return.
Trailer’s hook up and ready to go. Can’t wait to pick it up tomorrow.

Can't wait to work on it this weekend. Going to the fuel tank repair guy tomorrow to drop off my tank to be restored.
I pulled the hood and fenders back off to make it easier to land the body back down on the frame. While I have them off I have some touchup of the black under coating to do. There's some overspray in the rear wheel wells, underneath, and inside the drivers compartment. I was also thinking of spraying some black undercoating on the outside of the front inner fenders - the front wheel wells - to match the back. Any opinions on spraying this area black or leaving it the body color?

Decided to undercoat the front inner fenders today. Also painted over the overspray underneath, in the rear wheel wells, and in the passenger compartment. Looks great.

I also continued cleaning up my small parts to get them ready to go back on the car. Look closely at the front marker lights. A few years ago I ordered the clear lens covers not realizing that my housings were rusted out. Order new housings? No. Instead, be creative with what I have. I Have plenty of rear taillights (since I bought 4 cars to make one) and noticed that my rear taillight housings were the same diameter as the front marker light housings. The rear taillight housings don't have the mounts for the lenses, so I cut the mounts off the rusted out ones and welded on the taillight housings. Problem solved.
