On the very edges in a few spots where the tape curled the lip was noticeably greyer, but it polished right out. I would definitely recommend against using sand to blast the wheels, particularly from a commercial high pressure sand blaster. My objective was to just remove the dirt and oxidation from the original finish, so if you wanted a rougher spoke a more aggressive media could be used. I don't think any actual finish was applied to them originally, just raw aluminum, but I could be wrong. Look for someone who uses a blast cabinet vs. a "sand blaster". Might check with some of the larger custom wheel dealers, as they probably do, or know who does, wheel repair.

I like how brian singer does the fuchs wheels.. its a polished lip and barrel.. but then he scotchbrights the barrels into a satin finish. Magnuus has a more raw look with almost the same treatment. Outlaws dont like satin finishes, lol.

Guess I didn't read the Utube posting above very close... thought that was your car! Supercharged KA 2.4. I've seen some other videos, perhaps of that car, running the KA with the SC... way cool sound. My buddy Sean Kirk (also known as Captain Canada!) runs a turbocharged KA 2.4... he said it was violent in any gear and will spin the tires at damn near any speed. His previous car was NOS Nelly, a built U20 enhanced with a good shot of NOS. I think it or the rear end ended up in pieces...
