Dang.... was talking to Alvin about a run on 7/22 but I'm not even sure I'll be able to make that one let alone this week (out of town). 7/22, my car might still be in shop..... Thanks anyways, Aidan!

I’m in but with the freshly restored 240z. It needs more miles before it heads to Shasta. I’ll see if Jessi wants to run the 2000

Aidan,

I might be able to tag along.
do you have a idea on a route or meeting time setup yet?

I have been out of commission physically (healthwise, me not the datsun) for the past few months but got that taken care of now. some bad kidney stones.

I have not driven it in many months, like since February maybe?

time to get it out.

Alvin’s probably the only one who will be able to keep up with Brain’s 302hp

Aidan, I defer to you as the Fun Run leader/route planner

Here is a suggestion (solid, but I'm always up for newer routes)
Tentative plan for a 7/8 Fun Run:
Meet at 76 Gas Station in Downtown Saratoga at 8AM
Go up 9 to vista point just past 35 intersection.
Go to Alice's via 35
Down 84 to Coast via Stage Rd.
up to 35 via Pescadero Rd
???home???

or you could add to Alvins trip, and from pascadaro west to hwy 1 and south on 1 to Santa Cruz, 9 north to Boulder creek, continue on 9 to 35 and back down to Saratoga where you started. About 110 miles or so round trip in a counter clockwise direction.

but that is the same basic route we always take for people that live out here.

or you could go from pascadaro north on hiway 1 to taco bell in Pacifica or even more north on 35 skyline blvd and toward SF zoo then Great Hiway to Cliff house. And then find your own way home. but that route after Pacifica is probably traffic ridden on a weekend. even Half moon bay is.

one time I went on some cool roads down south / east from Monterey, on 68 east toward Laguna Seca then turn right onto Laureles grade (really nice road but short) and then turn left onto east Carmel Valley road (also a nice road in parts) to Tassajara road and then loop back someway.
one way from route 1 and 68 to Tassajara road it is just 27 miles.

but you have to get there! which from Boulder creek it is another 53 miles so 80 miles one way and lots of it is on hiway 1 on a weekend in traffic to Monterey! not a great weekend choice. but if you are ever down on 68 give Laureles grade and Carmel Valley road to the east a chance.

I did it on a car ralley during car week a few years back and had fun until some high valued exotics drove off the road into the trees on a road off of Tassajara road, but it was fun until then.
