Hi! From a 1968 2000 owner

Post by ncpi »

Hi Everyone!

I've been mostly lurking on the forum for a while. Owned my 1968 Datsun 2000 Roadster for about 4 years. While its really in pretty good condition, it getting time to restore it back to its original glory. I believe I am the 3rd owner, the 2nd owner had it over 20 years...unfortunately, she decided she wanted a green sports car with a tan interior...it was originally off-white with a red interior. Here a pic of it now, a picture of it in 1993 and one in 1994 when it was stripped for the color change. The engine and tranny were fully rebuilt about 3000 miles ago, it currently has about 103K on it.

Anyone have a suggestion for restoration in E. TN, W. NC or W. VA?

Welcome! I agree, car looked better as a white with red interior! Is that your plan? Looks like it needed very minimal body work.

Yes, definitely, White with Red again. I think its a great color combo, plus I like totally stock cars. The Roll Bar will come out too. The great thing is there is only one small area that should need metal repair as its bubbling. I also have the original owner's manual, warranty book, Radio manual and the antenna key. Other than the color change its been left pretty much stock, including the original radio.
