Plenty of pump, with a tray, only need to drill a whole in the tank and mount...no welding! But still do get your tank boilded out for safety if you are going to be drilling or doing any mods to the tank...please!! Im also adding there fuel level gizmo (its like $36 with another smaller hole) and you can get one that will work with the factory or aftermarket guages.

I made my own mounts and will be notching the cross member for clearance and I do think pulling the body would make for easier tranny mount mods.

Thanks for the info Matthew. I'll start a new thread soon for my swap, but wanted to update here.

I grabbed a throttle cable from a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder. It's pretty long so it'll at least be good for now, but I may want to get something else if it ends up being too long. It works with the KA throttle bracket and the 240sx accelerator pedal.

I also grabbed a 1997 Honda Civic gas tank with pump and sending unit. I cleaned the tank out and tested the vapors are gone, so it's ready. I dropped the datsun tank last night and it needs some cleaning first. I'm trying to track down a shop at the moment. The product you mentioned is tempting, but for some reason I want to do it the hard way. If it was returnless for that price, I'd be all in. Do you have a link to their sending unit? I couldn't find it on the site.

• Engine harness and computer (do people go with wiringspecialties just to avoid the effort of trimming and splicing or is there something else?) ...depending on your skills I like SDS EFI aftermarket but its more money...~2000
• New radiator (Honda del Sol?) ... NO 2L Champion
• New alternator (Subaru Justy?) ... NO
• Electric engine cooling fan if you want....I like
• Alternator bracket (custom?) ...NO
• Pulleys (anything to do here?) ... NO
• Fuel pump for EFI (I've seen some honda pumps mentioned, but anything that can be grafted to the gas tank with enough power should work, right?) Lots of choices these days....Internal I suggest Tanks Inc. or
• Fuel lines feed and return (I'm assuming these will be custom) .... Feed is fine, add a return if early car.
• Pedal assembly (240sx, does the brake pedal need to be swapped out too? how about the master cylinder?).... NO
• Throttle cable (read something about Z31 for the SR, same for KA?) .... modified stock or KA
• Exhaust manifold (original works?) .... I have seen the cast RWD stock
• Downpipe and rest of exhaust (custom) .... Muffler shop to stock exhaust
• Driveshaft (assume needs to be shortened) .... Normal
• Body electrics (no idea what's needed for the starter and lights and stuff. can the original wiring be used?)...... If you go with wiringspecialties NO
• Gauges (best options?) ..... $$$ slippery slop here....I suggest an electronic tac to start....the rest, you can modify stock
• Frame (KA only requires chopping for transmission mount and notch for speed sensor, right?) .... Not necessary

In all, KA is a pretty easy swap.

Hey Matt.
No mods to frame other than removing fish plate at center of topside only x-member. This was needed to give room for Speedo gear assembly.
The exhaust manifold was stock 240 as design. If I rember correctly, I did remove a some material to get it to pitch closer to the block which gave more clearence against steering shaft. I've got about a quarter in that area. I used a flatbed sander to taper the mounting face.
The 95 Maxima was a fantastic swap, and would recommend to any.
As far as body removal. Probably not totally necessary, but for the little bit of work it takes to remove, it makes the build that much easier.

Good to hear from you my friend Ted. Hope all are doing well and good to see so many newcomers contemplating restorations and powertrain swaps. My daughters u.c. dx had required a considerable amount of attention for sometime which obviously came before all else in my life.
Happy to say she is doing great lately and we look forward to everyday once again.

The ka is a great swap imo. Fits nicely with almost zero mod required other than fuel tank. And further down the road if one chooses, there is plenty or room for a turbo up grade which is probably the stopping point for me, but. I'm not entirely sure that what I want to see under my hood anymore.
