Re: greetings from Los Angeles
Thats great that you got it. I figured for around $5k its not a bad place to start. Pay someone south of the Border to deal with the paint/ body and you can iron out the driveability issues as they pop up on your daily drives... and get AAA plus at least

Too bad you waited so long....Your car could have easily taken "Diamond in the Ruff". There also was a matching Faded red hood for sale at Solvang without the lighting.....I will try to hook you up, have a brain fade right now......

Congrats, It's really is a good starting point.

Yes, he is almost as excited as I am. Probably because he'll get to drive it someday.pebbles wrote: Sun Apr 29, 2018 2:27 am Congrats Chris! Looks like your partner in crime is pretty excited too.
How does it sound? Type/size of the exhaust?
It sounds pretty good. And I believe it has some sort of Flowmaster on it.
I've a charging issue (or something like it) that'll be the first order of business. After that I think I'll sort the suspension & steering, and then the interior.
super psyched,
Chris

Re: greetings from Los Angeles
Thanks for the offers of help and the info on the car meets. I began chasing down the charging issue before I left for work this morning. Looks like the battery is good and the alternator is charging. There's a 40 amp diode that appears to have been fried at some point. I'm going to check/test that in the morning. I think even if it's still good, it needs to be 'upgraded' as the alternator (Subaru Justy) is 55 amps (I believe).
