Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread-take 2
I was going to replace the previous owners hack job aftermarket tape deck with an oem radio tonight. Ran into a problem in that I don't have any nuts on the oem radio knob stalks to attach it to the console. Does anyone know if I need to use special nuts/washers or will a thin jamb type nut work?
Thanks,
Thanks,
Matt

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread-take 2
If you look at the cast pad on the rear of the cam cover - over the rear exhaust - you will see that it is undrilled. The SU cam cover had two holes drilled in it - one for the locating tab and the other for the rivet of the vacuum tube clip. The absence of any drilling makes this a Solex cam cover.

Thanks. I would have never known. So what is the significance of the rivet in the "C" other than rarity.
Thanks for the enlightenment

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread-take 2
What tire pressure is everyone running these days? I went out for a drive & it felt like I was snowplowing thru every corner. Checked the air pressure & it was only 22psi. Doh! That what happens when it sits all winter...I filled it up to 30psi & it drove better, but still feels like an old truck in the corners. I'm running -195/55R-15 Dunlop Direzza DZ102's on Rotas.

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread-take 2
Anyone know what size nuts I should use to attach the radio to the console faceplate in a '68 1600?
I stopped by the hardware store tonight and couldn't fine anything that matched the threads on the two knob stalks.
Thanks,

Rutty, try an Electronics Store or Radio Repair.

This what they call a 16mm Potentiometer Nut.
