EBC Yellowstuff Brake Pads
Anyone ever try their Yellowstuff?
I just got some EBC Yellowstuff Brake pads.
From EBC " Yellowstuff:
High friction formula improves brake effect 30%.
Fastest brake pads for Street, Drift & Race
Zero brake fade makes this material perfect for fastest driving
Capable of repeated heavy brake use without brake “Fall-Offâ€
Very minimal disc/rotor damage characteristics
Suitable for shorter track events and race use
Medium hardness material feels good at pedal
If all you need is stopping power, this is the material choice
ECE R 90 type approved for most cars
Features red “brake in’ surface coating for instant safe braking after install"
I may not get them in before Solvang and they require a lot of brake-in to work there best.

How can you have increased friction and minimal rotor wear at the same time?

They are Ceramic Kevlar.
I could be wrong, but its my understanding that during the brake-in period the pad is doing three things.
Conforming physically to the surface of the rotor.
Depositing some of the pad material onto/into the rotor.
"Curing" i.e. chemically changing.
The amount of pad and rotor wear, along with the dusting is PFM.
They state that these are medium hard pads, I think that is what contributes to the rotor wear.
BTW, I don't care that much about the rotor wear if they improve the "Bite" and braking...these are for 00148.
Don't want to change the calipers. but I do want it to have killer brakes.

I use the yellow pads in my datsun, And I like the very much. With normal braking they act also normal, but after a few times using the brake and the rotor get warm they do there job great. especially in the mountains and on the circuit. I use als special brake fluid from EBC till 360 degr celcius, that's for the heat from the turbo.

Do you guys have a part number for the pad you use? Wouldn't mind trying these out. Tried to use the look up function on EBC's website and it's not working.

When I went through the rebuild of my '70 2000, I upgraded to the Volvo calipers. I have felt the cold performance has been marginal and suspected the pads were the culprit. Yesterday, I installed the "yellow-stuff" pads and they make quite a difference. The cold performance no longer gives me "cold chills".

I scared the hell out of myself with a set of these pads last night. They were correctly bedded in, with brand new DBA rotors. Driven on the street for a few hundred miles but never aggressively. I took the car out for a shake down drive to test some new carb jetting. I didn't go more than 5 miles at a decent clip before I had smoking brakes and a roadster that didn't stop. No, I wasn't going warp speed, likely never exceeded 55 mph. Just a back road with lots of braking points and turns. The pedal remained firm, but the pads offgass so badly when hot that the car just doesn't stop. I had to cut my drive short, stop, let them cool then carefully drive home.
Needless to say I will not be taking these pads anywhere near a track, and cannot recommend them to anyone who likes to drive in a spirited way. They are not up to the task. Not even close.

Sorry, I find modern engine swaps revolting. Keep your G, R, or U series in your Roadster!

I use these pads for 2 years now and they do there job good, never had smoking brakes and how hotter the better they work.
Before I used the originals from Dean and they could not do there job in the mountains and on track.

I took the car shopping last night, the brakes were worse than they were before my test run on tuesday. I don't know that I want to try and put more heat in them to see if they work better. As soon as I find another pad to run, these are going in the trash. I'd put these pads in the last resort category, as in, if the choice is these or nothing, they are better than nothing, but they aren't good, even for street use.

Very odd, your experience is the exception. You are indicating these pads aren't even safe. Maybe you should be in contact with EBC.

Maybe a little more expensive but Carbon Kevlar has really worked well for me.
