It looks like he used burl wood veneer and made his own. I say that because it does not curve with the normal curve of the console - it goes straight down. Also, the console is not stock with the stereo relocated and such. If you check some of the brit restoration places, you can buy burl wood veneer (as well as MANY others) either raw, or with a french polish applied. If you are careful, go with the polished and have fun. You may have to "book page" it to get the proper width, but done properly, that looks good. Plus, you can do fun things like putting a contrasting strip around the edge or inlay something into it. The Datsun emblem with the lion would be neat on the glove box door...

Oh, one more thing. It never ceases to amaze me how Alvin has pictures of ANYTHING you can think of Roadster. Dude, you must spend HOURS poring over those pictures to know where it all is and who owns what!
