Fixing broken things since move-aftermath

Post by S Allen »

So, the move broke a few things as I knew it would.

First thing were the attachments which I am fairly confident have been fixed.
The database registry was broken but now that is fixed as of yesterday.
Contact page on the WordPress main site was broken-fixed this morning.
Mail from 311s.org regarding posts and PMs was broken as well as the forum contact page-so no one was getting any notifications-fixed that a few minutes ago. Probably affected the registrations as well.

More to come possibly but overall we are in good shape. I have been monitoring the CPU and memory usage the last few days. We are averaging around 2-3% of the CPU. Memory averages around 60% pretty steadily. I will not be getting any notices from any abuse department going forward. I am really pleased with this move to a VPS.

Which hosting company is it? And which was the one you left ?

Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

The new hosting service is phpwebhosting.com recommended by mlwebb. The old one was icdsoft.com. I would have been with them 16 years this May. Started out with a basic plan. 8 years or so ago I had to upgrade to a business plan. They have VPS's as well but the cost was way too much. Phpwebhosting support has been very helpful since I started testing with them a few months ago. Icdsoft would have eventually cut me off so moving was my only choice. Glad I did now.

RSS Feed was broken as well. If any one wants the RSS Feed you can get it by putting this URL in your RSS Reader

http://www.311s.org/phpBB3/feed.php

There is also a link on the main entry page of the website. You can get to it by scrolling down towards the bottom of the page right by the calendar.

If you do not know what RSS is-here you go--

RSS (Rich Site Summary; originally RDF Site Summary; often called Really Simple Syndication) is a type of web feed which allows users to access updates to online content in a standardized, computer-readable format.

OK, computer is a language I don't speak but I thank you for your effort and time.
I would miss checking 311s at least a few times a day.
Thanks very much
