So... there’s this black wire with a female connector that comes out of the back of the hazard switch (next to the radio) on my 68 SRL. I assume this goes to ground — but I don’t see it’s companion wire. And it’s not listed on either of the schematics I’ve got. Any thoughts?

No, those grooves were there already. Doesn’t make sense to have o rings at the base, though I did think of putting some there.

Oh Nissanman you may be onto something there. I had a ground going to one of the screws on the heater because I couldn’t figure out where the stereo would ground. This makes a lot more sense!

I am not a roadster timing chain expert but back in my motorcycle competition days you would take a hold of the chain at the midpoint of where it is around the large sprocket and see if you can pull it away from the sprocket a significant amount. On the motorcycle the significant amount was enough to see the tip of a sprocket tooth under the chain.

Should I use a sealant on the fuel pump gaskets? That's on the surfaces touching the block and fuel pump, not the spacer surfaces (which the gaskets are already attached to). If so, Form-A-Gasket No. 2 is marked as gas and oil resistant...is that a good choice?

If the sprocket teeth are like christmas trees ....pointy, I was told that there is too much wear on my 1600...probably same for 2000
Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

If you can see wear on the power side of the sprocket, sort of a scallop, they will need to be replaced. If the chain has streched such that you can see a lot of the tensioner rod, consider replacing the chains.

My interior door handles are loose. They don't rest in toward the door like they should -- they tend to fall toward the inside of the car by like 1/2 inch. (can provide photos if you can't visualize it)
I have the guts out of the door to replace the window channel U-shaped tracks. I took a look in the door, and it doesn't look like anything is missing. But the handles are both definitely a little loose. Is there a solution to this? Might as well address it while i have the door apart. I didn't see any posts about it in the past.
