New member, upcoming roadster acquisition!

Post by JagerTex »

Hey everyone,

I have been lurking for some time, and avidly searching for a roadster to call my own. As I have an impending acquisition. (3/7-3/8), I figured it was time to officially join.

A little about me... I'm located around Houston, TX. I'd call my self an avid and aspiring "backyard" mechanic (as I'm in no way an ASE cert., but have many seasons as a track mechanic with a competitive Pro3 team and too many past projects including Z's, Rovers, BMWs, Jeeps, 4runners, fords and anything else I could get my grubby hands on). I previously operated a sand blasting/metal fabrication and motorsports restoration/modification botique in Tacoma, WA).

I've learned a lot, realized how much I don't know, and couldnt be more excited at the prospect of my impending financial blackhole. I tend to measure my projects in Grins-per-gallon in stread of quarter mile times, and have never even entertained having enough money to consider track times as a metric for myself. With ny personal projects, Ill spend the time before the money.

All of that said, I'm always down to lend a helping hand where I can. I love having an active community to be a part of. At this point on time, my daily is a f250 powerstroke... So if someone is in a tight spot or needs some serious grunt in the area, feel free to reach out.

Also, Im about to undertake a cannonball run from HTX to NC mid next week in case anyone needs transport/eyes on a find/or whatever :)

Cheers!
Jager

PRO3 eh? You were up in the PNW before heading to TX? What shop were you working for? Kevin Doyle is a good friend and helped me with my previous E30 24v build. Good guy

Welcome Jager, I'm also in Houston. I'm in Cinco Ranch and occasionally spend weekend in Bellville.

Try to join into this year's Nismo Fiesta event.

Makes me really happy to see so many responses so quick! Im in the greater heights area.

2man, I worked with BBQ2U (Accuracy Automotive)... So parker, crivelone (shoutout to r3vlimited!), adams... Made friends with Olsen and the spirit outfit and provided supportt to plenty of others over time. Definitely competed with Doyle - gave him and his team a heck of a run at the Pros and Joes enduro at PIR a couple years ago. Probably my favorite single event Pro3 hosted.

And correct on the Monroe listing. Couple of hurdles to be crossed, but fingers crossed its a solid enough foundation for a driver and general refresh. I doubt it will wind up show quality... But then again, id rsther have it on the road as much as possible, and if its too nice Ill always be worried about measing it up (I mean really, who would take a G-Wagen down 4xr trails?!) ;)

Hey guys, im going to post in general as well...

Im leaving early tomorroe morning from Houston, TX to drive oit and pick up the roadster in Monroe, NC. Im taking my F250 and a Uhaul car transporter.

If anyone needs something dropped off or picked up in either direction (excepting a compleye car on the return leg) theres plenty of room! Id accept snacks, sammiches, gas money and/or some old fashioned good will toward mankind ;)
