I sure hope not. I've paid for ticket, have hotel reservations, canceled the trip to Solvang and plan to drive accross the country to get there.

Mark,

No official word I could find on the Classic Motorsports site. Everything on there looks like it is still a go. Where did you find this?

Seems like that if Mazda went broke we might have heard about it in the news.

Hey Russell,

I was wondering if you have a crank scraper in that engine. I loaned a couple of engines to a guy that makes them, and got a couple of prototypes as payment. I have not installed them, but they look like they would work. I am just curious...

EL Sid,

Why yes ..yes I do have one of those fine Ishihara/Johnson teflon crank scrapers lessening the rotating mass/oil ropes. 8)

Thanks once again after the fact. Got your beer money in my pocket.

OOoooo.... You got the teflon version. I got the plain old steel one. Should be fine for the street if I ever get brave enough to try it...

Sid,

Go for it, only thing be sure and don't use a regular gasket, I tried it can you say split and smoke boys and girls. Use the 3m gasket in a can.

Hey Mark, sorry to hijack the thread, but I figured that you would not mind...

Russell, did you do any dyno testing - before and after? I have heard some pretty phenomenal claims (by the manufacturer - but they seemed to be straight up folks) about power gains. Would be interesting to know the reality...

Sid,

Nope never did dyno testing, what are their claims i'd be curious to know if they are on a cut/knife edge crank or unmodified crank.

I forget the exact horspower gains that they stated, but they were along the lines of 10 percent or so. Pretty stout. They have a Geo Metro that they tow a trailer with to go get engines and such. They said that before the put the scraper in it, it would not do the job...
