I have only tied off the ends. Haven't tried any glue FWIW.

I had to re-wrap a good portion of my engine bay harness due to a little meltdown.
I found some grey self adhesive tape which matched the OEM tape and simply replaced the original.
Do you require grey or black?
Alternatively, you could re-use the original tape, after a good clean, and just seal the ends with some self adhesive tape.

Tape wrap that I have purchased does not have adhesive, the ends are secured with Electrical tape at the ends of the run, at least that is what I did.

So what I need is what adhesive can I apply to the ORIGINAL tape? No new tape, nothing else. I'm leaning toward rubber cement based on what I just read on how different tapes are made.

Any good quality contact adhesive or polyurethane adhesive to a clean base will be suitable.

Ok, I only ask because some manufacturers used a non adhesive tape which when stretched adhered to itself.

I haven't posted in a while, but I have what may be a nutty question, but I'll ask anyway....for the quality restorations that have been done, or are already in progress, what, if anything is done about the soft top bows ?....powder coating, zinc or cad plating ?....I'm actually considering nickel plating, or the "black" chrome plating options. I welcome ANY suggestions and / or comments, and all of them are welcome without criticism.
For some reason,...in my mind, nickel seems to appeal to me, not only for the soft top bows, but also the attachment and adjustment brackets that go with it, ...and lastly, some or all of the under hood SU carb linkage. Short version : any pro or cons to nickel plating at all on anything ?

For the top bows, if I recall correctly, mine had some plastic inserts at the hinge points. So I had the mechanism media blasted, then painted it satin black. I didn't want it heated to 400 degrees for powder coating. My SU carb linkage was zinc coated by the previous owner and looks great. Very clean.

On a 1600 after putting my SU's back together, how many turns out should I start on the high/low needle? I read somewhere I should start at 2 other thread said 3.5. Thanks.
