Looking for information about the hardware that mounts the low windshield to the cowl. The bottom frame rail has been abused over the years and when I got the car it had a dry rotted seal and a 1/8" thick plexiglass windshield. Don't know if the bottom rail is tapped for a stud or if a bolt is used would there be some modified to the bolt head not to interfere with the gasket. Thanks for the help.

Re: Low windshield mounting bolts
The bottom rail has studs which are welded in. Bolt head is too high.
66 stroker, almost done.
67 basket case, paint coming soon.

Re: Low windshield mounting bolts
Rick, it sounds like your frame piece is fairly badly rusted for the stud to have come loose. If you can weld, and the frame channel is actually salvageable, you may be able to clean it up good, weld a bolt in using the head as filler for the hole which I assume is enlarged, then grind the head down to where it doesn't interfere with the rubber molding.
