1967.5 SRL - What mounts here?
I need some help figuring this out on #235 if you can.
Can you tell me what mounts here ? Missing relay or? on the passenger's side part mounts above and right of the voltage meter..
Also the green/yellow wire and the black wire coming from the hole in the cowl on the passenger side where do these wires connect to? I am prettty sure the black grounds at the V meter by the length and marks at the bolt.
Thanks Rick

Re: 1967.5 SRL - What mounts here?
Going from memory here, Black wire coming through the cowl hole probably goes to the ignition, I think to the Distributor directly, but possibly to the Ballast resistor or coil. Check to see if it has 12 Volts with the key on, if yes, then to ballast resistor, if it only has 12 V with the key in the START position, it goes to the coil. If about 8V with the key on, it goes to the Distributor directly.
"When all else fails, force prevails!" Ummm, we're gonna need a bigger hammer here.

On the first pic, I dont have the holes or anything mounted in the position on my 69. Pic looks to be space between voltage regulator and battery hold down.

Not sure what it is, not factory, though... probably an electric fuel pump mounted there at some point??

Green/Yellow on the Dash harness according to Curtis wire map is Stop Light Switch.

Thank you very much. They did ask if I drove it or trailered it. I trailered it. Gosh, that was back in 2013, how time flies. How about that project unicorn car, what a great find and asset for the Roadster community.

Re: 1967.5 SRL - What mounts here?
I looked at my car today on the wires coming from the pas. side firewall. The only wires coming out should be where the grommet is. The extra wires coming in from the extra smaller hole were probably added. The green/yellow wire is the stop (brake) lights. The green/yellow wire goes to the brake light switch. There are four wires in the little harness going through the grommet hole. One wire (B/W) goes to the ballast, black wire to coil, another black wire to distributor and fourth wire (yellow/black) to oil pressure sender. You need to trace those wires coming out of that hole and then fill that hole.I used the color wiring 67.5 schematic in the tech wiki, great resource. If you need any help or pictures let me know, I'll be glad to help.

If you are talking about the holes in the engine bay, that looks like where the voltage regulator mounts

Re: 1967.5 SRL - What mounts here?
Project Unicorn has what appears to be an aftermarket relay (with built in fuse holder) screwed to the inner fender in approximately the same position. At first I wondered if it was an OE fog light relay, but after closer inspection, it appears to be domestic, and the wiring is certainly not OE.
Hope that helps,
Michael

Zip cord usually means that you have a fun wiring project ahead. In this case it doesn't look terrible to correct. Not like the car that I had that someone tied into a continuous hot wire with zip cord and ran it back and forth under the dash (which had a fair number of sharp edges) and left the hot wire dangling with the ends exposed. Good times!

Re: 1967.5 SRL - What mounts here?
Thanks to all who answered my post for your help.
After working though the puzzle in #235's engine bay I am in the process of tracing wires on the dash side of the cowl now. The yellow/green wire that connects as Ed pointed out to the brake light switch was unattached on the engine bay side and after tracing it back on the dash side of the cowl I found it unattached there as well along with one of the black wires. Both had been cut and were not attached at either end. I have removed the radio console and will start unwrapping the electrical tape on the wrapped wiring to see what was done in the past. The rest of the wiring appears to be intact but I am sure the PO before me had a reason for getting into the wiring in the 1st place I just have to figure out why?
