Most of the cars that I have seen have had extra holes drilled.

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread-take 2
Here's a real dumb one: Where is the ID number stamp on a U20 block? I see it on a bare R16 but it seems like there is nothing in that same spot on the U20.....

Might be a replacement block?

Top surface of the block, adjacent to the #2 cylinder, on the distributor side.tjp wrote:Here's a real dumb one: Where is the ID number stamp on a U20 block? I see it on a bare R16 but it seems like there is nothing in that same spot on the U20.....

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread-take 2
They are stamped just like an R as I recall... same flat place in about the middle of the block at the top edge. If no number, then it probably is a replacement block as Notoptoy said.

OK, yes, that is what I thought. This one is a replacement then since it is blank. thanksJohnnyMac wrote:Top surface of the block, adjacent to the #2 cylinder, on the distributor side.tjp wrote:Here's a real dumb one: Where is the ID number stamp on a U20 block? Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread-take 2
Is the block new? If so it should have the U20, but no numbers. If it has neither, it has been decked.
