New member w/a barn find 1967.5 Roadster 2000
Hello everyone! After a long search I have found my 67.5 Datsun 2000. She has been parked outside beneath a tarp for several decades. Last registration was in 1990. Prior owner states she was running when last parked but the engine seemed to be stuck when we tried to manually turn it over. Interior is in pretty good shape considering how she was stored. Hard top is included along with some interesting spares such as seats and an extra windshield. I haven’t looked at the spares very closely but did see them in the back, covered in spider webs with angry spiders ready to pounce on me for disturbing their happy place.
I’ve always liked these roadsters but wasn’t too sure I’d ever find one worth restoring. This one seems like a good candidate. Some rust on the drivers rear wheel well and the floors are soft, very soft. I am going to pick it up later today. It has been tough to determine a value for this since the engine won’t turn over and the clutch pedal goes straight to the floor and the tires are basically rotting off of the wheels.
I look forward to sharing some of my stories and learning from yours as well.

Great find, welcome! Looking forward to more pictures as you dig into her. Based on how that was stored, you may find a total heap underneath, fingers crossed she's salvageable! Those look like 240Z seats.

Welcome and hopefully you have some good bones on her. What is the VIN#? The curious want to know and please do add it to the registry.

Re: New member w/a barn find 1967.5 Roadster 2000
I thought that there was only 1000 - 67.5 2000 models made, but someone recently tried to correct me and say it was more like ~850... either way, they are rare and if its a real SRL 67.5 then yea its worth it

Probably the only roadster you can sink a lot of dollars into (especially if it has the factory solex's) and not come out upside down. A very fortuitous find indeed!

Old enough to know better, too old to remember why!
1969 2000 solex mine since 1972, under resurrection. (Finally resurrected as of spring 2019!)
1969 Porsche 911s -worth more, but not as valuable! Gone!
2017 Lotus Evora 400 - Oh my!!

Re: New member w/a barn find 1967.5 Roadster 2000
Thank you all for the warm welcome.
Drumroll please.... and now for the VIN plate. She’s the real deal, #420 and I will certainly add it to the registry. I did have the sense to check out the car with a local guy who does restoration work. We expected to find some rot, and may at a later date once we get her to the shop, but the areas we looked at were surprisingly solid. The driver’s side quarter panel had some rust around the wheel well but the passenger side had none. My intention is to bring her back to life and put her to work as a vintage race car. Not a pure race car, but equipped for track use with the necessary safety gear. I’d love to get my hands on some of the OEM racing parts such as the solex carbs, oil pan and cam. Probably quite difficult to find and if I do it will cost a lot more than I’m willing to spend.
The seats may be from another car, I really don’t know. I do know for certain that there are extra (original?) seats in the back area along with some other stuff such as another windshield. The condition of these items is unknown and I really didn’t want to dig too much since the owner has been a reluctant seller, mulling it over for the past few years. I tried to get into the trunk but it was locked and the keys weren’t available.

From the 67 2000 guide post: the headrests are expensive and rare. Cool find BTW!

Congratulations! do you plan to do the rust repair work yourself? It takes a lot of time and megabucks to hire it done. I did mine myself and found it rewarding work.

Hi Williamsburg Roadster,
I'm very close, Gloucester Point, and I have a couple 67.5 cars and one is a race car. Your welcome to stop by some time or ask questions if I can help.
