A bunch of us are doing a short fun run tomorrow(Sunday). Meeting point for San Jose folks is 14675 Big Basin Way at 9:30am. From there we head to Felton and more fun roads!

Re: Bay Area Fun Run!
Alvin,
So that is in Saratoga correct?
And for those of us that live in the mountains or Santa cruz area from Saratoga are you doing 9 West and South or 17 South or Bear Creek road West to Felton?????
I'm not sure that I will make it but if i actually have the roadster running by then I may try to meet up along the route and follow for a ways.
I tinkered with so much stuff that there are good odds that it will fail my safety and drivability test, but i might get lucky....
Shocks, springs, brake hoses, clutch hose, tie rods and ball joints and all. I'm not even sure that it steers or even brakes yet!
I will be finishing up the brakes late tonight. So we will see....
What ever you do NOT wait on me. Probability is maybe only about 20% that I will make it somewhere along the route.
I hope you guys have a fun safe run... good luck to all.
Stacey

San Jose folks will meet in Saratoga. We will meet Aidan in Felton. We can stop by your place in middle. See you then!

Re: Bay Area Fun Run!
Alvin, so far things look ok for me. I will road test in the early morning.
if I am not sitting on the southbound side of route 9 in Boulder Creek just after Scarborough Lumber and before Foster Freeze then I did not make it.
fingers crossed. I think the only issue that would keep me home is if the steering pulls too much.
if you leave Saratoga by 9:45 and you take 9 then I assume you get to Boulder Creek by 10:15 or so.
don't forget about the two one lane traffic lights on the way. one when leaving Saratoga after Saratoga Springs resort and the second NEW one about 2/3 of the way between 35 and 236 on 9. that one sneaks up on you while flying through blind right hand corners. there is one warning sign but it is easy to miss. it is where the road widens in some twisties. except now it is one lane and dead stop for light. it is a new light as of a couple weeks ago I think. the northbound lane fell off.
then there is a third one lane light on 9 in Bookdale. you should have seen that before.
I hope to see you guys if I get lucky. if I do I will just try to pull out behind you all as you go by headed for Felton, no stopping required in Boulder Creek.

Re: Bay Area Fun Run!
Hey guys, that was fun!
Thanks for setting it up Alvin.
This was a nice road test of my recent upgrades: JT68 exhaust system, JT68 Bilstein touring shocks, Mike Young Comp Coil springs, Keith Williams rebuilt SU carbs, new brake hoses, clutch hose and rubber boots on ball joints and tie rods. all seems to have survived just fine. Loving the Bilsteins and SS exhaust and new carbs and comp springs!
(I had posted some more pics but then thought that maybe some may not want their plates shown. so I deleted them. I don't mind it if you post my plates.)
