Hello from San Diego

Post by Okie6.1 »

Hi I'm Nick. Currently in the hunt for roadster to wrench on. Have been a lover of these cars for a long time just every deal either falls through or gets scooped up fast. My step dad has a roadster sitting in his field in Oklahoma. Problem is he wont let it go!

I'm a lover of all things car related and am pretty handy. Look forward to getting to know you all and hopefully soon have one in my possesion.

Welcome, it's likely someone from the forum or nearby can help you locate something reasonable. You've come to the right place for info and research while you locate the perfect roadster! (And work on your dad some more!)

Nick,
You can come over and work on mine anytime........LOL

You want your own? What are you looking for in a roadster?

Have you checked with Les at Classic Datsun Motorsports.
SoCal is the ideal place to find a roadster.....Very popular here in the 60s and 70s and lots in back yards and on the street

Yes I want my own. I would gladly come help wrench anytime. Help me learn about theses awesome cars. As for what I'm looking for a roadster I'm not particular to a specific year more so condition. Need to find one not rusted away or with to much major body issues. Basically a good shell would be great and one with original motor and tranny even better. I have seen a few around socal but condition and price did not match. Currently talking with a guy in northern cali who has 4 two 69's and two 68's. Just need to get time to go look when I get back from vacation in the bahamas!

My cars are so far from stock, might not be much help for learning...LOL
If you need help just holler. San Diego has a lot of roadsters, but we are not organized.
One of our fellow San Diegans is restoring a 67.5 2000 he got from a local wreaking yard.

I would try to get a license or whatever you need to bid on copart. There has been a few roadsters show up on the auctions down there recently.

Thanks I'll look into that. Hopefully one of my projects gets sold this weekend and I can add some more funds to my roadster hunt. Have found one that I think would be a great starter project.
