fender flares

Post by okiedatsun »

Do any of you run fender flares on your cars, particularly the Japco flares? I am looking into getting a set, but wanted to see if anyone had experience with them. Thanks!

Ian,

I'm running the japco flared fenders. They are race quality but not good for the street. They are very thin and the fiberglass isn't perfect. There are bubbles, rough spots, and crows feet. They also don't have any mounting points for the lights. Most of the rear fender, tail fins, and tail light area must ce removed to mount the rear fenders. I think japco sells a flare only. I have not seen any pictures of the flare only but I think they are a bubble type. There is another company that makes box flares for the roadster. They are performance fiberglass. http://www.performancefiberglass.com/roadster.htm
I have no experience with them.

On the west coast we are not allowed to run flares in Vintage. I know that Les Cannaday has a set of very wide fender flares if you are looking for a racing solution.

JAPCO has trunk lids, hoods, fenders, flares, and an air dam.
