Need help with Best Tire size for Stock Wheels
Hello All,
I searched the whole Tire & wheel topics and found that the go to tire sizes are 185/60,65,70 R14. Now, theres a local shop who supplies the lowrider community in town and he has brand new 185/75r14 ww tires for $180 a set. Is anyone currently running this size on the original rims? Pro and cons? Im currently restoring my Roadster which i purchased in late Feb. 1969 SRL311 w/ Mikunis. Thank you!

Re: Need Help!
Not sure if the 185 fits the original wheel well, it is pretty narrow.
Hope others can give you their experience.
The stock rims are a little heavy too, but many like to stay OE. I love my wheels, there are many others to choose from.
As for tires, lots of room for discussion there!

Re: Need Help!
185/75/14 is even taller than what originally came on the Datsun. With the narrow 4" wide stock wheels, along with that much width and height and it will be like driving on marshmallows.

Re: Need Help!
Welcome Luis...
24.925 in diameter. I think you would find them ok for cruising, but not much good for spirited driving... and a 2L with Mikunis... needs to be driven spiritedly...!
By any chance does he have any 13" ww for the same kind of money? Or even better, wide whites? I need some for my 65 410...

185/75/14 is a little tall and a little wide for a stock rim but will work ok. A little soft during hard cornering, but nice over railroad tracks or catching some air
My 68 had 185/75/14s on it when I bought it.

Luis,
Since you are local, check out www.onlinetires.com in La Mirada. Very good prices and decent selection, you can pick up.

I got the Vitour Galaxy tires with 3/4" white wall. Just needed something asap, since the tires the car had where severely cracked
