Grant adapter issues

I'm the new kid on the block, primarily because I have a problem installing an after market Grant steering wheel. I read in a blog that the Grant 4581 is the correct adapter for my 67.5. The hub cover needed to be machined down by almost an inch so it wouldn't rub on the turn signal arm. I installed the hub but when the copper surface comes in contact with the horn "nub", there goes the horn. I can't figure out how to keep the horn from constantly sounding. Has anyone else had this problem??

Yes, aftermarket hubs almost always require mods and ingenuity to get them to work. I can't remember ever finding one that just "fit" without altering SOMETHING, usually more than just one thing.

Should be 3 shoulder bolts. And a spring. When you push the chrome horn button on to the copper ring, it should snap in place over the copper ring. The spring will hold the chrome horn button and the copper ring up. The copper ring slides up and down /in and out on the shoulder bolts.

I just put a Grant hub (4581) and steering wheel on my '69 with no issues, fit was perfect.

The only thing I had to modify was the foil tape on the painted steering wheel. It was not positioned properly so the horn didn't work all the time. New tape fixed that.

Can you post pictures please? I am out of pocket until Thursday but can post photos of my 67.5 then. It should be the same even though I installed a recirculating ball box & collapsible column from a 70.

My horn button has 2 connections on it. One is tied to the grounding lug. Is it possible that your horn button does also & you have the lead connected to tat terminal rather than the other one? Disconnect the horn button & see if the horn still blows all the time.
