Jordan,
Your parts look awesome. Nice job. You must have an industrial 3D printer.

Steve, i have a similar set up. I made a bracket to hold the cable drum, etc. It could look better but it works.

2-1/16. Standard Autometer size. I barely squeezed them in. I have just enough room for the hazard switch to fit width-wise. I bailed on the fan and s/brake knobs. From the top, it will be choke, ignition, then hazard.pebbles wrote:Sweet. Gauge holes 2 1/8 or 2 3/8?Mainer311 wrote:Just finished sanding my steering column trim and center console. If you want to retain the S/brake lamp, then fit a microswitch to be in the off position under the parking brake handle. When you put the brake on, the light will turn on - just like the brake lamp on a more modern car, and it frees up a space in the panel.

It's in! I love it. It's painted a pewter gunmetal kinda color. Also painted the steering column the same thing.
Just need to finish organizing the wires and find a good ground.

That does look nice, just don't have more than one key or any metal rings or dangly bits, it'll scratch up your gauges and the beautiful work!

Re: What did you do TO or FOR your Datsun today?(Roadsters only)
Thanks guys. I got it all back together, charged up the battery, and fired it up for the first time since the axle rebuild, steering rebuild, GM alternator swap, and gauges. The only difference that I noticed is that RPM's drop a lot more when the lights are turned on from that big GM alternator.
Started testing everything, voltage reading 14.5, looked good...until, no blinkers. Got the meter out and started testing everything. Found that my hazard switch is on it's way out and doesn't like to connect 4 and 5 in the off position (blinker feed). Fiddled with it and got it working, now everything is 100%.

Re: What did you do TO or FOR your Datsun today?(Roadsters only)
Yesterday, my Brother in-law Bill and my good friend Jon and I rebuilt my drivers seat. It was a great time working on the 1600 with them and learning how to do the seats so I can do the passenger side myself. The driver seat turnout like new! The only problem is my head hits the hard top! LOL, I guess I'll just have to take it off!!!
