rear hub centricity after machining
Buying new wheels. If I have the centerbore machined to fit the front hubs and do all four to avoid having a pair of front-only wheels, I'll have a different problem of the rears not being hub-centric. I do not want to run spacers (assume the offset is within usable range without them). I don't get the impression that many people are solving this problem by machining the front hubs (which seems a bit sketchy). Is everyone machining only one pair and mount/unmount in order to rotate the tires?

I'm pretty sure roadster wheels are lug-centric. I suggest getting all 4 wheels to match.
Also, if you are buying Rotas/VTOs don't they sell "ready for roadster center bore" wheels?

+ 1 on lug-centric.
The tapered wheel/lug nuts will draw the rim into alignment as they are tightened up.
Parallel shank lug nuts are awful to use and modern wheels rarely employ them.

Depends on the wheel. Some dont have enough material to substantiate removal, sketchy.

The front is Hub and Lug centric, the rear is Lug centric. I have VTO retro 4 wheel and machined all of them.

All four it is then. I was looking at panasports via datsunparts...I haven't asked them if those are custom-bored for the roadster

Z/Roadster Panasports do not need machining. Datsunparts sells wheels that will fit your roadster.

Z/Roadster Panasports do not need machining. Datsunparts sells wheels that will fit your roadster.
No, haven't ordered yet. Just wanted to get a clear idea of what others were doing before laying out the cash.

center bore of the wheels need to be machined to a larger diameter for the front hub. Or?
FUTOFAB offers a 1/8" (~3mm) spacer with a 3" hole. Seems this would
work without machining the hub or the wheel?
The offset options are 24 mm or 3 mm. Looks like 3 mm is a non starter.
Seems the spacer (~3 mm) might be okay without machining the wheels?
Does the 3 mm spacer yield an effective 18 mm offset with a +24 mm offset wheel?
Another option is panasport wheels which seem would work and no stud changes
or spacer or machining.

looking at Retro 4 Wheels catalog, 15x7 are available in +0, +12, +18 while 15x6 are available in +0, +3 and +24.....it looks like you might be able to get +22 custom drilled.

VTO center bore for the roadster is 73.1 mm.
It seems this might be compatible with your favorite-- the mg.

Suspect it's too small for a roadster front hub though?
