Re: Stock Tire Size
Mike's got the right look with those white walls. Very similar to my factory original "Toyo" spare, with original air.
I decided to forego WW last time I bought tires, in favor of available blackwall Vredestein "Sprint" T80, 175R14
But, I dressed up the factory stock wheels with trim rings that are the same sheen as the hubcaps.

Re: Stock Tire Size
oh my goodness . it is very hard to find white walls for these sizes now. and yes my tires are too big the speedometer is off . It only slightly rubs somewhere on turns but had a blowout on freeway and trying to get all 4 . my trouble is ,I just repainted and changed paint color and it looks wonderful . white walls would really seal it up but . I have limited founds and need some cheaper but quality .lol. but my question is white walls which of these sizes have white walls possible ? I want to know if I should just have someone order them or is hunting them down possible fairly easy in big O, big brand Sears or somewhere . idk if white walls really make a difference ? but that silver one above looks Sick ! I like these in silver too . mine went from the orange red to a burgundy metallic flatz . wow I love the way it turned out . painted it myself the other day .

Re: Stock Tire Size
I'm trying to learn how to use this forum so please bear with me. I finally finished my 68 total rebuild and paint . looking for tires and woundering if I need to worry about white walls . I like that ring idea to clean up the wheels too ... I repainted color from red orange to deep burgundy metallic flat . the metallic give it the sheen that gloss does but duller . I live the way it turned out .and being darker the white walls would really pop , but sizes r limited . any ideas on size to choose with stock rims ? I'm stumped . oh just broke 609 miles sh it's broke in now and running Great ! I can't believe I put a motor ogether ! and it works . boy the paint really sealed it for me too . it was that orange red when I had this in the 80s so it "matured up" with this burgundy color . kinda a deep cherry black . I think it's different but very sharp .

I think as the Tiger Paws go, several online sources list them for sale, but don't really have them...

Re: Stock Tire Size
Good news. Sears let me put them in a cart and schedule a service appointment. I stopped at check out, but maybe it would bomb after placing the order. Let's see if someone who needs tires will try it.

Yes! IMHO the whitewalls are a must when running the OEM steelies, kind of like the side trim too. One of the best examples (of recent memory) is Stacey's '70 SRLLorna c wrote: looking for tires and woundering if I need to worry about white walls ...

Darker colors look great against the whitewalls as well!Lorna c wrote:kinda a deep cherry black . I think it's different but very sharp .

Re: Stock Tire Size
It appears you can order from Sears online and pick them up at the store. You can also select options: mounting, balancing, valve stems, etc. for extra charges: Link to Uniroyal Tiger Paw AWP II - P185/70R14 87T WSWLorna c wrote:haha yea i figured . what was that on Sears ? they have white walls that cheap . huh I'll be going out tomorrow . or I'll call ?
The current online discounted price is $60.26 each.
I am running Hankooks in the same size with no problems. I have no 1st hand experience with the Tiger Paws. Do your own research.
Some others have bought them: http://www.311s.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.ph ... al#p234650
Good luck.

Do you notice any issues with your speedometer with these tires? I see the diameter is 25.1 inches, versus the 24.5 for original (as I am told).

Re: Stock Tire Size
Running the Hankooks noted above in 185/70/14 I recall that the Speedo matched the GPS pretty consistently. I can confirm again on my next drive at various speeds.
It looks like the exact tire, Hankook Mileage Plus II H725 in WSW is no longer available.
The Uniroyal website states that the diameter of the Tiger Paw AWP II is 185/70/14 is 24.3". I think any speedo issues will be negligible.
Something folks will want to be aware of running 185's on stock wheels...As noted in my original post from 2011 linked above, I am running 4.5" wide wheels. If you have 4" wide wheels 185 could be wide. Check the specs of the specific tire you are considering. For example, the Tiger Paw in 185/70/14 is advised for wheels 4.5"-6" wide according to their spec sheet online.

Click on "Specs" and then expand the table by clicking "more" on the right of it.
