New member from Iowa

Post by jfichter »

Hi all - just joined the Datsun Roadster owner ranks with a 1970 1600. I'm close to Omaha, NE on the Iowa side of the Big Muddy (Missouri River).

I bought the roadster in it's current condition and am working on some issues with it before the weather turns nice this spring. I think I can gain a lot of knowledge from the users in this group, so I appreciate all of your help and ideas in advance.

Thanks, and nice to meet you all (virtually),
Jamie

Beautiful looking ride! And its good to see that you have your priorities right. Don't worry about those unfinished walls behind you, concentrate on getting the roadster ready for spring!

Jamie,

Welcome-glad you joined us. Now there are at least five of us in Iowa. Maybe we can get together some time. I live in Knoxville home of the race way. I took the liberty of grabbing your picture and creating an avatar. You are welcome to change it any time. Your car looks good. Cheers.

Thanks for the nice and welcoming responses, guys. I'll get some more pics and some more info (VIN) here in a bit. This is a great forum.

Notoptoy - I see you have a 65 impala convertible - you have pics posted of it? We (I say we because we treat it like a family car with my wife and 3 kids) have a 64 galaxie convertible. Nothing special about it as it's just a 289 that came with a 3 on the tree, but that car has been awesome for us. We probably would not have had the urge to buy the roadster if it wasn't for the Galaxie and the fun we have in it.

attaching a pic or three of the galaxie.

Do I have pictures? Are you kidding? Of course, as a Roadster forum, they are a bit frowned upon in solo, so I will re post some "in context" shots  (i.e. Roadster inclusive). That Galaxie is beautiful! Any convertible is "special" to me. My Impala was also a base - 327, tuboglide - no SS or big block or power anything. Though I have restored it with factory air, power disk brakes, power steering, tilt wheel, power seat and windows, (all OEM parts from a 65 Donor Impala) and an aftermarket Cruise control. I actually had the Roadster first, and added the Impala after! That's my brother's FJ40.
