69 2000 in LA

Hello everyone, recently purchased a 69 2000.

A bit of background, my first toy car was a street legal manx clone. It was also the first time i got my hands a dirty rebuilding the air cooled engine. It was a fun experience for me to work on my own and the simpler design of the vw engine helped. Tons of resources for that engine in LA. Alas, I had to move and subsequently had to sell the car. I missed having a toy car to dart around LA with.

Fast forward a year and a friend of mine who is a true gear head got his hands on a roadster. He is a bigger guy and the datsun just didn't work out for him. When i saw the car i fell in love with it. He offered it to me for a great price, but funds weren't available at the time and he ended up selling it for twice what he offered it to me. Fast forward a couple of years and I was back in the market for a sunday driver. The hunt for my roadster began. I was looking for a running car, something I could work on in small bits. I live in an apartment complex and have to store the car at a friends which limits my access to a working garage. If anyone has recommendations for a mechanic in the LA area, i'de greatly appreciate it.

My craigslist, bring a trailer, ebay hunt left me with a couple of choices. I struggled to decide, but in the end I lucked out with the car I got. Couldn't be happier.

Congrats & welcome! I seen this roadster on CL & thought it was very nice.. I really like the color combo, blk & red interior.. Very clean roadster.

Welcome and congratulations on your beautiful Roadster! I also think might have seen this one on craigslist and it is near perfect. There is a big roadster community in LA and I'm sure they can give you recommendations. Have fun and feel free to ask questions.

Thanks guys, car is in great condition and a blast to drive. Looking forward to attending one of the Datsun meets.
The previous owner never used soft top, so i'm assuming its shrunk. The weather stripping on it has dried and crusted. I'm on the lookout for a new soft-top, soft top weather stripping and eventually a hard top. While lurking on the forums I saw the 'Alvin' top made by Thompson. If anyone has one laying around, I would be interested.

This is a ratsun meet held every third saturday of the month.

There is the weekly Supercar Sunday meet7-10A for all cars in Woodland Hills, the second Sunday of the month is for Nissan cars which means you can park in the front special area in front of all the Ferraris, Lambos Cobras and Porsches
Good place to meet other owners.
