Just wanted to give a quick update. I have installed the rails for the seat and welded in backing plates for them under the car. Everything is welded and the seat is very secure. I also welded in the tab for the submarine belt. I just finished blasting and painting the hubs and then put the new DBA rotors on. I also put the longer studs in as well. I put new bearings in and the DRP hub spacers that were a group buy on this forum. I will be posting a video about the DRP spacer install on that thread.

I finished the modifications and welding on the interior so I thought it was a good time to undercoat it. It is paintable and will be sprayed with the body color.

Well I finished putting the dust plate, brake caliper with new hard lines and pistons on the car. I even put the new stainless braided line on it as well. I then decided to mock up the ultra close 5 speed using the custom made mount provided to me by Scott Fisher. It fits perfectly and i just have to drill and tap the holes for the mount that bolts to the underside of the frame. Moving right along on this project!!

In the middle of putting the motor together. Turns out that I need a couple more of the shims that go behind the timing chain sprocket on the end of the crankshaft. I found a couple in my collection but the sprockets still need a little more to line up. Does anyone have a couple of these from a motor that you have taken apart? New would be great but that is a real long shot.

So I recovered the original dash last night with some 16 gauge sheet metal. I traced a paper template then transferred it to the sheet metal and cut it out. I am doing this so I can place the new smaller than stock gauges in the exact position I want them. I know for sure the tach will be directly in front of the steering wheel. As for the other gauges I will figure out which ones are most important and put those on either side of the tach and work my way out. The push button start panel will be close to where the original toggles were.

So Keith has nearly everything he needs to put my motor back together. He just put the pistons in this week! I would love it to be done so he can bring it to me on his way to Shasta but I would rather it be done right than fast.

Did the final fitting of the combustion chambers to the pistons yesterday. That head had been milled a lot. Next is final sizing of the combustion chambers. Less than a CC to go. The rules allow 10 to 1 compression ratio.

I restored the pedals and modified them for better use during racing. The gas pedal has a larger heel area and the clutch and brake pedals have a rough metal finish to keep the foot from sliding off. I also installed the BRE spoiler and choose a color, Primrose Yellow. The color was inspired by the Jack Scoville car. I will finish wet sanding the spot putty this week and spray the primer on Friday!!

I finished cutting the holes in the modified dash for the gauges and push start panel. I then sanded it and shot it with some etching primer. I will paint it tonight with a hammered finish type paint.

I set the body back on the frame today after priming it yesterday. Next it is off to the shop to do the roll cage. I plan to paint it as soon as I get it back.

So I put the doors on, set the gauges and push button start today. I decided to put the rear view mirror, seat , steering wheel and dash in to make sure everything is in a good place to be viewed. Next it is off to get the roll cage!
