Posting this for new owners and regulars alike, and I'll be harassing anyone within 300 miles on an individual basis.

Elaine Halstead will be running the Roadster events this year after a few years off, so I'm sure she will get details up here soon.

My house is avail for repairs and general loitering and driving Go-karts on the lawn before and during the weekend.

I'm planning on going on the Knapp Valley tour, they are alot of fun, we can stack it full of Datsuns. Register early if you want to go, http://grandprixfestival.com/roadster.html. Same for hotels/accommodations. They fill up fast. If anyone needs info on the area, where to stay etc, please contact me, glad to help.

Some more details...

Roadster dinner will be at the Watkins Glen Community Center on Saturday @ 4pm. Chef Sherry is working up the menu. All are welcome. Bring Family and friends...we will need a headcount for food prep. I will start a new thread when the time comes and send emails to finalize.

We are working on a location of a "meet and greet" on Thursday night - likely somewhere in Watkins Glen. TBD

Will likely have the show and shine later in the Day on Saturday. I always have trouble getting there at 8 am. Those who come every.year know why...her name begins with a D.
It will Likely be at 11:30 am and at a location where people can bring a lunch, or fire up some charcoal grills.

Lastly, commemorative T shirts will be available as always. I should have some sample designs ready in the next few weeks.

Meet and greet on Thursday followed by the vintage fun runs and festival events on Friday and then the roadster spit and buff on Saturday. We get together with the crew for dinner and awards Saturday night.

Some Updates:

This is a preliminary letter with tentative plans and other newsletters will follow with prices and pictures of the t-shirts. Let me give you an idea of some of the plans.

Thursday, September 8th- 5-8 PM Meet and Greet
location: Rooster Fish Brewing - 111N. Franklin St. Watkins Glen
The gang will be there to pass out t-shirts, dinner tickets, door prize tickets, show n' shine ballots and entry forms and we will gladly accept your money. So join us at this new location. There are off street parking lots

Friday, September 9th- all day Grand Prix Festival location: Franklin Street, Watkins Glen


Saturday, September 10th- various events and times

Show n' Shine 10:00 AM- location to be determined

Fun Road Run 1:00 PM-3:00 PM- starting point to be determined

Join us for a run around the lakes with no stopping. This is a great way to show off all of our cars and have a great time together. We do realize that many of you will be heading up to the track to watch the vintage races.

Dinner, Awards, Door Prizes and Swap Meet -location: Watkins Glen Community Center/ Roller Skating Rink
Boat Launch Road, Watkins Glen 4-8 availability dinner-5 PM

Please gather with us at our familiar location for a evening with old and new friends. Please bring items for the door prizes. If you want to swap Datsun parts, please feel free to bring those. Dinner will be at 5 PM and we will let you know the menu and the price in next update. Feel free to bring your own wine or beer. More details will follow.

Please order ahead of the event because we will order few extras.

Dinner is $15 per person. 4pm to 8 pm

Dinner will be at the Watkins Glen community center...err Skating Rink...same as the last few years.

Location of Show-n-Shine still being worked out but will be at 11 AM on Sat.

Amazingjoe plotted a fun run route after the show and shine and before dinner.  Some of you will do some time at the track.  Either way...it's a great day to enjoy our love of cars.

We will have a package for you to pick up at the meet and greet Thursday night at Rooster Fish downtown Watkins Glen.  There is BBQ and other food choices available.

Park off street in one of the three town parking lots.

Bring raffle items to dinner as usual.  Anything that you want to raffle off as the raffle tickets are free...it's more for the fun of it and sharing items (like roadster parts) that you don't need...

t-shirts are $15 ea and available in two designs and three colors. I can get more colors if people feel strongly about colors.

Foe people not attending, if you want a shirt, just PM or email me with size, color and design. The more shirt orders we get, the lower the price will be. $15 is just a conservative estimate...this is all not for profit.

Show and Shine at Lakewood Winery. Thats on Rt.14 North of the village about 5 miles.

Starts at 11am. Fun run after the show. dinner at 4pm at the community center in Watkins Glen.
