Right save size wheels
I have a "66 roadster and the fenders are smaller then the one from 67 to 70. I belief also at the rear.
In Europe is it more difficult to find good wheels that fit on my car, but the question is, Will a 15" 7J with a 25 offset fit at the rear with 185 or 195 55 or 60 series. At the front (my guess is) I need a spacer. or can I also work wit 20 offset at the rear. the car is lowered. 6J from Rota is not for sale in Europe, the smallest wheels are 7J. Or you must find old school wheels, I like the mesh wheels.
Pity there isn't a list what will fit on which type of car.

Thanks, now I have to measure the offset.

Re: Right save size wheels
Every car is just a little different from the next.
On the front, 15x7 +25, the tire may rub the stock swaybar at full or close to full turn.
15x7 +20 is about as deep as I would go and adjust the stop.
On the rear, 15x7 +25, the tire may rub the leaf spring and is most likely to rub the spring pack retainer.
15x7 +20 on the rear will be tight to the inner well and spring and may only rub intermittently under hard cornering.
Rear comp springs do not have the retainer.
Imho the rear flare early to late isnt an issue, because the tire rubs about an inch above the flare.

Re: Right save size wheels
So when you take as example et30 and you use 10 mm spacers you get the same fitment as et 20 David.

Re: Right save size wheels
In theory yes.
Only problem is, with most wheels, but not all, the "lip" gets narrow as + increases.
The closer to +15 or +18 the bigger the "lip".

Re: Right save size wheels
My Rota's RB have arrived from the USA in the size 15x6 +20.
They placed by the garage one tire on a wheel to fit on my car, it's a 205/50/15.
I fit it at the back site and it fit like a glove, 1/4 inch left on the outside and a 1/2 inch on the inside.
But the front, that's another kind of cookie. with a 3 mm spacer they fit and when I turn my steering wheel total inside it doesn't hit the bar( barely).
But at the outside it's about an inch out of the fender, Can I also use a 185/55/15 at the front, does that give that a strange road behavior, it makes a 1/4 of a inch at both sides and steering will be easier in small streets and during parking. I have to mention that the car is a "66 and with a lot of horses so I want as much as rubber at the backside, but will a smaller tire at the front influence track driving and cornering seriously?

Re: Right save size wheels
Would a 195/55/15 work on the front without a spacer?

Re: Right save size wheels
But then I need to put the hub on a lathe to take that 3 mm away, that makes then in total 8 mm and not the 1/4 inch.

Re: Right save size wheels
Usually its easier to modify the wheel bore to 76mm to fit over the lip. 185 on the front should cause no problems as the wider track will naturally make the front grip better than the rear.
