So I was asked today if I had found a new old car in my garage lately, and the answer was yes..

Current plans are to remove the speed limiter, and then enjoy it for a little while.. Seriously fun car.

Had some fun at Nissan Challenge at Auto Club Speedway..

How long does it take to get used to right hand drive? Looks like fun, but seems like a luxury ride compared to the visceral, and loud, experience with a Roadster.

It is definitely a luxury ride compared to a roadster..

I did not take long to figure out the RHD.. The weirdest part of that was on the track, where you think you aimed a wheel at the edge of the curbing and either completely miss it, or take the entire curb under the car. Fortunately I did all of that at Buttonwillow, where the curbs are nice and smooth and reasonably flat.. Shifting on the left is a little odd, but I found the minute I started it reminded me of being a very young kid and shifting my mother's BMW for her, and it all came back.

That said, I have several times walked to the left door and opened it, and suddenly wondered where the controls were.

I'm still trying to figure out what is a reasonable temperature on the AC.. Picking a temp in the 20s just seems strange.

Thanks Tom! As soon as I get the plates, we will have to run up the hill to see Adam. Maybe set up a fun run.. I can't wait to drive up there with turbos, no loss of power..

depending on the box, always love the transition between 3 & 4 - so much more intuitive to "pull" rather than "push"
then again grew up on english cars

lovely car btw

3-2 downshift is awesome.. just push it away and back..lol

It really is a different experience, but it makes perfect sense if you slow down just a touch..

Yes, came with the ZE40s...18x9.5

Am I going to modify it? Never. I believe in preserving the history in these old cars..

Ok, maybe just a little..

Also...

Driving in reverse is awful.

Trying to pass someone on a two-lane blacktop is awful.

Trying to turn left on a boulevard with someone facing you also trying to turn left is awful.

But it's still awesome... :smt005

How many time will you look to your right, out of the window in an attempt to find the mirror that is now on your left.
