Hi all, I'm Kat. I've had my 1967 1/2 Fairlady since last July. She's the first classic car I've owned and the only car I've really worked on. She may be a long way away from perfect to a lot of people but she's perfect me and I'm excited to continue to work on and spruce her up.
I joined this forum in hopes of finding some like minded people, local car shows as well as a to use all of your knowledge as a resource since I'm a rookie in this world... I drive her about 85% of the time so if you ever see me on the road just honk and wave!

Hi Kat - JCCS (Japanese Classic Car Show) is in September and in your backyard right there at the Queen Mary. There are some nice "Cars and Coffee" all over the area too, including Palos Verdes and the OC.
Thanks so much J! I will definitely check out both of the "cars and coffee" in the very near future.
Jackson - There's not a lot to say. I'm young and dumb and road motorcycles for years before I wised up. I didn't last too long without a toy so when I sold my ducati last year I decided to buy a classic. I did some research and fell in love the roadster. I happened to find this girl on craiglist and bought her from an amazing family that still helps me out when I have questions.
My fairlady does have a fair amount of rust and the right tail light section needs to be completely replaced. Shes on the 10 year project plan and for now I'm just enjoying cruising around and learning how to fix her on the fly. Oh and she did have an engine swap... I don't know how sacrilegious that is here but it happened.
Welcome Kat! You will find THE BEST people here on this site... We are a huge family of very "like minded" Roadster crazy people who will help you out, find you parts, encourage your efforts and bite the roads with you. There is no attitude here (some opinion of course from time to time!)... We're all just here to support other Roadster owners and all the variations and modifications of the cars. I went to grad school in long beach and have many fond memories of that time. You mention an engine swap... Surely people what to know what it is!
Welcome Kat!
I am local as well (Los Alamitos) and frequent some of the local car shows, although often without my roadster. (whassupwiddat?)
Cars N Coffee OC (Irvine) has closed down, or at least it has moved to OC Fairgrounds, and has shrunk significantly. There is something going on in San Clemente area as well, I have not been down to that.
Drive the heck out of it! is my advice, although I have been delinquent in taking my car down for repairs, as I enjoy driving it too much.
More info on the engine swap please... She looks great with the trim removed, and love that color.

Oh my gosh! So many responses and everyone is so welcoming!! Thank you all of you! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and I appreciate any and all help I can and will get, more than I can express..
I don't know too much about the engine swap but it has a 198/ Nissan A-14 (carb). She was originally turquoise and my goal is to get her back to that but for now (queue Ferg) I'm driving the heck out of it!
I need to take pictures of the engine... but here are some of her exterior and interior for your viewing pleasure:
