Hey everyone -
Well, I gave in to pressure from the Roadster voices in my head and joined. The Roadster list is slow and need more of a Roadster "fix".
Phil's car news to date:
Working on a turbo motor for the Roadster. I will use one Solex placed above the intake. Should be interesting which is what I am after. As I fab the exhaust and intake I will take pictures.
Finished mom's 1990 (number 366) Miata I inherited from her estate. Set for 8 years in the Florida sand. New timing parts, tires/wheels, fuel system, BUNCH of electrical work, new brakes, new top...... Runs great now - only 58K miles.
Bought a new Jeep Wrangler. This thing is a hoot. I had to put skid plates all over it. Too much fun running in the creeks.
I hope and working very hard to get to the Mitty in April. I will trailer the Roadster and have a friend (or son if he is out of Boot Camp) drive the Miata. This will be too much fun!!!
Enough for now.
Hey Sid - lost your email about the '64. I had to take a few weeks of annual leave and have been swamped. But, I will down at KSC the 14th week and will have a day free. Email me!
Have a great day!

Welcome to the forum, Phil! Good to have another turbo (or at least turbo in progress) guy around here...

Nice Dave! I wish the Roadster motor had intake and exhaust of different sides. By going carb vs injection, it is hard to get the turbo close and all on the same side. But, I want to stay "old school". Hey Dave - what radiator did you use?
Yea Sid, give me a call. I will be in meetings all afternoon, but pretty open this morning. My 1600 in the '66 is getting older/trans making 1st gear noise (both built in '89) and time for a change. Sense I have the Miata to drive (not as fun as a Roadster) I am taking the opportunity to build a new motor. I bought a rebuilt 5 speed and turbo (Mitu unit) off Roadster guys to get me started. It will be an interesting build.

Phil,
I'm running a Fluidyne unit that is a drop in replacement for the Honda Civic and CRX. It requires a small bit of fabrication to create the lower mounts. If you go that route, give me a shout and I can send you some pics. It's really very simple. It also allows you to run an OEM Honda electric fan and fan shroud which bolt right up to the Fluidyne unit.

Here is a shot of a Fluidyne radiator installed:
You need to make some simple mounts on the frame, but overall, it is a nice upgrade, especially if you have an engine swap.
