Although an off topic, this may also be useful for some of the Datsuns.
I have a 2004 350Z with 6 Speed Trany. Nissan suggests 75W-85 Nissan Brand or (75W-85 or 75W-90 API GL4) Manual Transmission Oil. I would like to use Redline and contacted them. They suggested a mixture of 2 qts. MTL and 2 qts. MT-90. MTL is 70W80 and MT-90 is 75W-90. Any thoughts?
I guess that I could just use MT-90 straight since it meets the 75W-90 spec.
Thanks
Ivin

Ivin,
I use the redline mtl in my racecar it does a great job I think the only reason Redline is suggesting the mix is, that I have noticed on really hot days the straight MTL will have a little more gear whine. Redline is great stuff I have run this since the tranny was new two seasons and so far no need for a tear down.

Yeah, the Miata folks say the same thing....regular MTL unless you're running hot, then MT-90 to prevent that gear whine.
