SR 20 de
I am doing my first sr 20 swap. Thanks to this great site and all the members I feel it will be a success . I have run into a big stumbling block , finding a Sd20 de. Everyone seems to have a turbo version no one has the non turbo version.
So I turning to the experts any sugestions?

Re: SR 20 de
Thanks RCMike. I have seen this on ebay. They are in New York I am in San Diego. They have good ratings on ebay. What I don't understand is Japan is just over there, why do I have to get an engine all the way across the country. Maybe I am being just to annul about this. Thanks for your input.

Re: SR 20 de
Like Mike said, there sure are a lot of NA SR20DE engines available on eBay right now-- including some rare Autech versions!
According to google there are quite a few engine importers in the LA/San Diego area-- have you tried all of them?
Let me know if we can help with conversion parts!

I have called a lot of importers in LA and San Diego. They all have turbo versions. I just like the way the non turbo version looks. As you can see any different power source will be an improvement.http://www.311s.org/phpBB3/download/fil ... w&id=21105

Re: SR 20 de
Ask them to get you one. They will throw one in the next container. Most of the 240x guys want turbo, so no reason for them to bring one unless they can sell it. eBay is quicker, and maybe cheaper, because you do not need to wait for the next container and they are trying to sell stock on hand. But is your car ready for a motor to bolt in yet?

Re: SR 20 de
Mike I bought one on e-bay yesterday. I think it was the same one as the link you posted. I am working on the engine compartment now will post up date soon. I got rid of my little friend. The car has been sitting for 26 years so I have a bit of work to do.

Re: SR 20 de
I have run into a bit of a problem in trying to start the engine. It will try to start with starting fluid. Fuel pump runs when switch first turned on. I have fuel in the lines. Hot wireing pump makes no difference . Any thoughts?

Re: SR 20 de
Larry,
Make sure that your fuel lines are not crossed-- many people put the fuel feed line (into the engine) to the fuel pressure regulator-- The fuel pressure regulator gets connected to the RETURN line.
Good luck,
Michael

Fuel lines are correct. I don't see a scrader vale to chech fuel pressure. How do I check fuel pressure? How about teeing into the supply line?

Re: SR 20 de
You will need an inline fuel pressure gauge to check fuel pressure (and yes, on the feed line). You want about 42 PSI.
