SCCA Vintage Autocross

Post by Steve49841 »

In 2015 the SCCA has introduced a new autocross class called Heritage Classic (HC) for vintage cars. It seems the power that be realized a lot of cool old cars that had become uncompetitive were sitting in garages not being used so they cooked up a way for owners to put them back in competition. For me over the years, the time, travel and expense of vintage racing has become more then I want to deal with so I find myself running more autocross and this is an excellent development. Recently I e-mailed the guy in charge of Solo for the SCCA who told me they are in the process of refining the HC rules package in preparation for including the class at the Nation Solo Runoffs September.

Seems to me like SCCA is feeling a little pinch from the different vintage/historic racing associations and wants to bring those cars home.

Holy crap, its a free for all unlimited mods aside from requiring correct engine class.

Sorry, I find modern engine swaps revolting. Keep your G, R, or U series in your Roadster!
