Re: Motive power bleeder cap
I have used a Harbor Freight vacuum bleeder with much frustration. I now use it as a catch bottle w/ the power bleeder.

Re: Motive power bleeder cap
I've never had much success with power bleeders, but am very happy with the speed bleeders. Speaking of, I'm just in the process of switching to the RX7 set up... Anyone know what speed bleeder to use for the Mazda rear brake calipers off the top of your head?
Oh, never mind, right on their website!!! SB7100. Same as the early Z car listing... No Roadster listing, but I assume it's in the wiki... I'll check first. Would be nice if I can use my old ones!
Nope... SB3824 appears different than the SB7100... Too bad!

Re: Motive power bleeder cap
The Motive system is the way to go if you don't have anyone to help. Speed bleeders are OK, but not as effective as the power bleeder. A fellow member made me a nice custom cap. Works like a dream, and I can bleed both the clutch and brakes in less than 15 minutes. A perfect solution for anyone who wants to quickly flush their systems. I wonder how may roadsters are out there running 20+ year old hydraulic fluid?
I have stated that my power bleeder is available for any member to borrow. I have sent it to a few already, and they have been very kind to return it.

Re: Motive power bleeder cap
Cannot believe I missed this. I added Bikermike's cap solution to the wiki under brake bleeding. I had to update the rubber stopper URL as the old one did not work. Folks need to point this kind of stuff out to me. I miss a lot obviously. Thanks.

Re: Motive power bleeder cap
GREAT solution! PS: I made the pump from a small plant sprayer with air gauge for about $15 long ago.

Re: Motive power bleeder cap
Speedbleeders rock! Have used them on all my race and fun cars. http://www.speedbleeder.com. Especially great for quickly getting rid of the stuff that got hottest in the calipers.
Some people don't like them because it uses the master cylinder to push the fluid out and if you press too far you can get the seals into an unworn portion of the cylinder. Just don't push all the way to the floor!
The 'pusher' system is the best for a full flush.
A little Vaseline around the standard bleeders is generally enough to seal for vacuum bleeding, but haven't done standards in a looooong time.
