Are you Registered for the Solvang Datsun Roadster Classic?

Post by NostalgicDatsun.com »

We hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas.
Things are coming together really good for the 29th Annual Solvang Datsun Roadster Classic taking place April 22 & 23, 2016.
Did you know that this show, thou it is a Datsun Roadster Classic that other models of Datsuns are welcome to register too?
That's right, it is open to ALL Datsuns, of course our goal is always to have so many Roadsters that there is not room for anything else. But even when we had 100 cars we still found room for more. this show is always a great time! Check us out at http://www.solvangroadstershow.com and while you are there you might as well register for the show. You can register online or print out the registration form and mail it in. It's that easy.

We hope to see you this year as we plan to have a great time!

The site needs updating, all the dates are for the 2015 on the site. Newbies will be confused or book the wrong days in April. I'd hate to miss anyone.

Would be nice to have the 2016 dates in the title as there are multiple Solvang threads, so all the official info and links in one thread would be easier for searching.

Solvang Accommodations Alert.

If you are going to the Solvang show best to get some accommodations soon.
Most motels seem to be filling fast around the April 22-23 period and prices are about $100 more for 3 days at Svendsgaards.
This could all be internet booking games but it looks like vacancies are low and prices much higher than last year.
If you delay you may have to tent with Linda at the local camp ground!
Or I may sublet floor space for cash or roadster parts (especially 1500 parts as we now know they are rusty and worthless! )

Camping for the hardy at Flying Flags, or they have Airstream trailers!

Flying Flags has Airstreams indeed and some 10 or so bungalow type cabins which are really nice with lofts. Another option for campers is Lake Cachuma just east of Solvang via about a 10 min drive. We've really enjoyed Flyin Flags but after a cabin fire nearly wiped out my kids 2 years ago we prefer Cachuma. Prices are really reasonable compared to FF.

Just booked the Svendsgaard's, only a couple rooms left they claim! See you in April - on the basis that the Roadster makes it out of its winter hibernation!

Chris Nolan, there are many good places for lodging. A good number of attendees stay at Svendsgaard's. Lodging fills up fast so I suggest you get a place booked.
