How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. I am reminded of this old adage every time I step foot into my garage, and have been repeating this to myself several times per day for the last two weeks to manage my stress.

Greetings Datsun fans - I have talked to a number of you individually and on line, but wanted to formally introduce myself here. My name is Brian, and I am a long time roadster fan who has taken the plunge on my next big (huge!) project - 67 SRL #33 that I acquired from the legendary 'Roadster Bob'. I met Bob about 5 years ago when I looked his car being sold on eBay, and have been fortunate to be able to learn from his extensive fabrication and Datsun knowledge since then.

My restoration will be a the latest (and greatest) chapter in a legacy of father-son projects that I have been part of through the course of my life. My earliest memories are of my Dad building an airplane with a 60' wingspan in a 25' garage. My own Pinewood Derby cars in Cub Scouts evolved to trains, boats, and car builds of my own. I have been fortunate to part of a family that loves a good project, and we are all excited about having this important car in our lives.

My last project - Unique FIA Cobra replica, Accel DFI stack injection. All 4 of my car build projects have ties to Shelby American.

I look forward to becoming a part of this Roadster community and sharing the adventure of bringing #33 back to glory.

Over the next months I will be sorting through a mountain of parts - I was fortunate to have gotten a significant quantity of 'spares' along with the car. (Roughly 20 tubs, bins, and crates came with the car above and beyond the 67.5 1600 parts car I already owned) It is a slightly overwhelming task, but I am becoming extremely familiar with every nut and bolt on the Roadster at a very rapid pace. It is drinking from a fire hose, for certain, and I have a very patient spouse.

At some point after Thanksgiving I expect to be able to offer some of my overstock to the members of this forum. If there is something you need prior to then, let me know. I may have it!

Until then here is a shot of SRL #33 at home in my garage, along crates of Nissan's finest work that I am sorting through.

Welcome Brian. Enjoy the project. Just take it easy on the Bob praise. We don't want him getting all big headed. Btw, I love the FIA. I have always wanted a 289 Cobra. I am slowly collecting bits for it.

Welcome! Wow, more '67 2 liters showing up, yea! Not sure if Greg's (the other Greg, Datsun.org as I recall) '67 2000 registry is still going on, but if so please add them. My car is far from stock so I doubt I will be able to help with anything "correct", but I am happy to be of support if needed. This is a GREAT community here, and you will find nothing but support and friendship, and a great deal of knowledge. Welcome to the family to you both!
