Do Z wheels fit the Roadster?

Post by ed B »

Does anyone know if the orig 240Z wheel (14"x5") will fit the roadster? I need a spare tire for mine and am not picky on the type or matching my originals.

Just a guess, but yes.

I had some Z slotted mags on my roadster. Fit fine but the offset was different so they were a wee bit farther out. I got slight rubbing in the back till I rolled my fenders

There were a couple on a car I bought. They don't have tabs to install the original hubcaps though.

I though they need a spacer on the front.

My 69 had 4 on it when i got it. Since then ive put them on a 66, and a 67.5, (because they hold air lol) they seem to fit ok.

Per Pebble's post, that is not an issue. The wheels fit the hubs just fine. Have you encountered otherwise?

Per my experience with the aftermarket 5 slot Z wheels, the only issue was the offset as stated earler.

I have a space saver Z car spare was told that you need to swap it to the rear as it doesn't fit over the hub.
I have never had to use it and have never tried.....
Have any of you check the inside to see if they were forced? Do the fit over the 76mm lip or is there enough taper that its no problem.

Come to think of it, my first 1600, a 66, had a set of early 240 wheels and hubcaps on them. They fit fine. No rubbing or spacers.

Werent the space savers for the 280zx? 79ish?
This car had a full set on it as well. Rusted on there pretty tight. Not worthy of re-use either,, like most of the car.

Im not sure but thought the 70 to 73 z had the same size hub center but later z,s it shrunk and so did the wheel center
Thoughs look like stock cheap trim group 79,80 wheels pebbles. The first 79 Z were neon lime green or orange with uglier hubcaps ,no one wanted to buy them ,most were sold to racing teams at cost
