Needed brakes and tires..

Old rotors and pads coming off..

New rotors and pads..

Picked up new tires..

which Kevin took and mounted..

And Kevin decided to experiment on a new limiter for the engine, to keep it from lifting under stress.. We made some pieces out of some scrap plate and angle, and got some threaded rod..
Top mount on head..
Image
Bottom mount on other frame motor mounts..

And an overview..

Bought an old Yokohama, Japan license plate. The Roadster was built in Yokohama(横浜) and my wife lived there for a couple years. The two digit '53' covers years 62-70.

Put the emergency brake back on, I moved the pivot an inch rearward, to clear the panhard bar frame bracket (barely, hence the UHMWPE).

After a 3.5 month sit to rebuild the engine I finally drove it out of the neighborhood today. Wow! So nice. 60 over and an Isky DR66 livened up the old R16 a bit. H3

Gaped my spark plugs (they were a bit too wide) and set the point gap ( it was half of the minimum) and greased the distributer cam. Starts much more easily!

Boy Aidan you are making a lot of progress. Always feels good when you complete things that improve your ride. Are you driving it to school yet?
