I will now have larger selection of rims and tires that will fit my car.

Looks good. :D

A few questions if you dont mind.

what are the flares made of and where did they come from?

Are they riveted on?

And here is the biggie. You said you had to cut. What did you do about the inner fender on the rears??

I'd like to know also!

Make a template, measure, beer, measure again, beer, check template again. Fire up the saw and cut away.
Scary to cut into a perfectly good body (even after a little liquid courage).
The flares look great. Nice job.

Well, I've done the beer and beer part ... too bad all my vehicles have sunroofs.

So I have a 2 day track day coming up in a couple weeks, so I started doing the inspection on my car..

First, found a broken motor mount..

Also noticed that I had taken a pretty good rock strike to the oil pan. It looked like a safe dent.

Last, I asked the tuner to look into some rough idle and just on tiny throttle. He found a dead o2 sensor, which at over 30k miles, he said was just about due. So he turned it off in the computer so it drove smoothly until I could replace it.

Drove the car to Kevin's to swap out the mounts and the sensor. Mounts were easily done, when they came out it was obvious they were done..lol

While we were down there, Kevin mentioned that the oil pan was leaking from a tiny crack in the dent. So it needed to come off.

The good news is that we got to check the status of the motor after 30k+ miles, and the answer is the pan was spotless. I gotta admit that it was a pleasant surprise to see the pan and windage tray so clean after the way I abuse this motor. I mean, we built it to spin and spin hard, and all that, blah blah blah... But to see that it is all working was really nice and reassuring..

After we got the pan glued on, and the o2 sensor installed, I called the tuner, and he walked me thru turning on the sensor with my phone. Motor started, and it feels brand new. I have a couple more things to do before the track day, but it all looks good at this point!

RCMike do you think the glowing exhaust had anything to do with the failure? If so, is a heat shield in the works?

What does the trans mount look like?

What hurts it most is using the clutch and gas pedal to rotate the car. Whether it's intentionally not rev-matching down shifts to act as a mild email brake, or overrevving and dumping the clutch to break the tail loose. It's incredibly tough on all those flexible parts, but when the situation calls for it, it can either be the safe answer, or the fast answer..

Kevin hates it.. But by this point, he knows it's what I do with the car..

That's why I have chains on my motor mounts. I kept breaking them.

When I was in school and had a 1600 and no money, it had one maybe two bad mounts. I don't know exactly what the relationship was, but sometimes it would get rotated a little to the left, and then it would not crank to start. I found that I lifted the left via the air cleaner, that it would crank and start. Upon graduating I got a job where I got a company car, and my girlfriend needed a car so I loaned it to her. She impressed a few people when the 1600 wouldn't start and she would pop the hood, fix it, drop the hood, start it and drive off.

Oh my, I believe your sickness knows no bounds.

In my case my main sickness is something very physical. 40 years and counting practicing and teaching kendo. This gives me two forms of stress relief, putting on armor, yelling very loudly, and hitting people and driving the car.
believe it or not tractor pulling can give you a good workout. You have to add or remove weight from your tractor in order to enter more than one class. After one day's competitions were over I figured up that I had added or removed a total of 7200 pounds from my two tractors.

I think I have you beat, sort of. The adductor machine at the gym. 210#'s x 40 reps x two sets. 16,800#'s moved. Then I move on to the other machines. However I will concede that moving those weights off and on a tractor has to be a lot tougher then sitting on your butt moving the weight.
66 stroker, almost done.

This is a labor intensive cup holder installation. Make you have at least a few hours to complete. See pics for a step by step guide.

I do three sets of five with a little over 1000lbs on the leg press. Then I do calf presses. Same reps and weight. My upper body is weak though
