Hey all,
Does anyone have experience with a shop in the mid-Atlantic doing their SR20DE swap?
I'm getting closer to "committing" to a SR20DE swap. I know there are a few swapped roadsters running on the east coast but it seems like most over here have done the work themselves. I don't have the space, tools, or quite honestly the skills to do the frame mods so I'm planning on going with a shop to do the heavy lifting. I may attempt the wiring/gauges etc on my own but we'll see.
There are 2 shops near me with Nissan swap experience (i.e. 240sx swaps) and what appears to be good fabrication skills. I figure with the Spriso jig and all the information they provide, plus the wiring specialties harness, I shouldn't expect trouble. But I'm always nervous about cost overrun and quality of work. I've had bad experiences from other shops screwing up very simple things that even I could do.
This would be a "simple" S14 SR20DE swap into a 1968. Probably 300zx brakes, stock rear end, and hopefully a flat dash conversion.

Re: East coast SR20DE swaps
Andy I finshed my swap in april of this year . did 95% my self .I looked into have a very good turner shop to do the swap i got a quote of 9000.00 turn key . I did not want to spend that much so i did myself . It turn out great . A good plan and alot research first makes it easier . If you need any info or advice I would be more than happy to help . The best information tool is all the swap pictures u receive when you get the mount kits form spriso motor sports ,Its a information highway to the swap . Even if you get a shop to do the mods you should buy the mount kit and alt bracket kit and dvds from spriso motor sports that way the shop knows how to do it the right way , i feel its the only way it should be done . No sense reinvent the swap when it has already been done the right way . I am only 1 hr from Baltimore if you like to look at mine . pm me
