240Z mag wheel lugs

Hello, I have some mags from a 240Z and I'm having a little trouble finding the correct lug nuts for them. If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be great. They seem to be roughly a 19mm width on the opening, studs are 12x1.25. I have not been able to accurately measure the depth of the lug hole, but hopeful that someone knows what I need and a good (possibly inexpensive) place to find them. I need a whole set (16).

Are you putting them on the Z or a roadster?

Looks like those ran with washers... so I think the length and width of the shank may be important too. Is the face around the stud tapered?

As far as I can tell the face is not tapered. The wheels are going on my roadster, which may be ready for bodywork and paint in a week or so.

If they are going on the Roadster, then the metric lugs would not be appropriate - unless the studs have been changed out.

Im not sure what will work, but I just want to encourage you to make sure you get the right ones. My friend Bill's wife lost a wheel (iron cross 280zx wheels) when the wrong pitch lug nuts were used. Everyone was incredibly fortunate that nobody was killed or injured, but that was either sheer luck or devine intervention. I have used the 6 spoke 280zx wheels on my car in the past and made sure I used the right pitch lug nuts along with what were called "Craigar" washers, often used for that brand of wheel.

That's an odd wheel in that the hole is stepped so you need the correct diameter shank to match the hole and then the depth has to be less than the depth of the hole . If the shank is too long, you will be holding on but the thin aluminum step at the bottom of the hole, not on the face of the wheel,

Food for thought, these specs don't seem to match what is in the Ebay listing, unless they are not including the washer? Measure twice

I think you are on the right track - like Dave says, you need the shank to fit reasonably well and not bottom out before the washer contacts the face of the wheel. If the thread pitch is right, and the shank length and diameter are correct, I think you should be good to go!

Yes, the 280zx 6 spoke wheels have that same "step". When I used wheel spacers in the back I had to drill out that step so the lug nuts would go through the wheel and a portion of the spacer. I believe the lug nuts I got for those wheels (with the step) would be the same as what is being discussed here.

Was just going through another recent post and came across this in relation to "15inch 280zx wheels", which might be the 15" 280zx turbo wheel that was optional, or maybe he actually had the 14's, but it really shouldnt matter... try these!

Or, you can find them on ebay by looking for 5001t lug nuts, which is what I did.

It is also possible that they are stocked at Toyota dealers, but I didn't check up on this.

They do not bottom out in the wheel, the washers are a little smaller than the original washer cut-outs, and I have about .5-.8mm of side to side play. Should that work, or do they need to sit perfectly in the hole? If they need to be a perfect fit, could I wrap the bottom post of the lugs that goes into the stud hole on the wheel in teflon tape to get it to snug up a bit or would that not provide the safety required? I can post a pic if it is unclear...
