Yet another Aussie

Post by oldmatesSR311 »

Hi All

Based in Brisbane, Queensland it is the ideal place to have a car with no roof, as long as I wear a hat (bald heads and the sun do not mix). A tragic Datsun guy since my first P510 1600 sedan. This list has been long, 4 off P510''s, a P610 2 door SSS plus a wagon, Bluebird and the same 260Z 2+2 twice.

I had to wait over 35 years to get my favourite Datsun....SR311 1968 2000 Sports. Bought it early this year with the idea to slowly improve on what was a basically sound car while driving more often than not. I am not after a concourse or race car, just one I and my boys can take for a run and have some fun.

The photos below are from when I bought it and as I have played with the wheels plus in the shed (barn :D ) with the Zeds.

Cheers

Welcome young fella :smt006
I see that you have the obligatory RED Roadster!

Nice car, I know you will enjoy it.

I still have the first car I bought, a 1971 Datsun 510 4 door, new from January '71 :)

What, are you crazy! Are you Aussies standing on your heads? Drive it and have fun? Don't you know that these cars were built to be looked at and admired like a statue? It must be restored to perfection, right down to having the he proper manufactors stamp on every nut and bolt!! Oh, wait, wrong forum. Yes great plan, these cars are made to drive and enjoy, and the people on this forum do just that! The members here are REAL enthusiasts and willing to help in any way possible. Enjoy your new ride and the comradire and information provided by this great site. Mike
