Hello - Returning to Roadster!

I bought my first roadster, a 66 Fairlady from Mexico at a Salvation Army auction. It was rough had lots of bondo but it ran and was awesome fun. Did the straight pipe exhaust, brake rotor upgrade, tune up and drove the car every chance I got. I had a Victory V92 sports cruiser at the time and sold it to keep the Fairlady. Atlanta is not bike friendly. Shoot, its not car friendly!

The 66 Fairlady was a blast to drive! Plenty of zip in town and fun to drive wide open on the curves. No one knew what she was and the folks in SEROC were nice to chat with and meet up with at the Mitty.

After kiddo was born dollars got tight and I had to sell off the Fairlady. At least I got a great pic of kiddo standing on the seat with her hands on the wheel. Big Grin on her face!!! She loved to ride around the block in the car. No seat belts or car seats so she never saw speed.

Went through a few cars after that, 76 280Z with 50,000 miles. Got tired of the fumes and no safety equipment. Convinced my wife that the neighbors Subaru Imprezza with the big brakes, airbags, 4 doors and perimeter roll cage was a safer and better car to tote her and kiddo around town. She agreed before she found our what a 2004 WRX STi was! That car was FUN! Bought it for $18K with 7,000 miles on in 2007. It belonged to LeRoy from DMB. I put 120K miles on it. Then, had to sell it though so that I could get a 4wd to go into the rock quarries and mines. Found a buyer at $14k. Not too bad. Drove a factory race car for 5 years and 120K miles for $4K and regular maintenance costs.

Got a 2006 F250 Diesel super duty. No handling to speak of but it had Grunt! And it broke - alot!!!

Now a few months ago I get some cash and it is burning a hole in my pocket. I miss the Subie but can't afford another. So, I looked back on what was the most fun I had in a car. The answer was easy - The Fairlady. So I searched around and found a bunch of rusty tired cars. I wasn't in the market for a high dollar restoration so I checked the auctions. Within a week I had my new Roadster and the journey resumed.

I have started a build thread in readers rides. Check it out and watch the journey. I am looking forward to getting the roadster on the road & track - ASAP.

Welcome from another SEROC 1500 owner. Not much here has changed. Still a good family group. Like family, we get on each other's nerves every once in a while, but we get along pretty well. 1500s are odd ducks, and the 65 is a subset of those. I am sure that you will have plenty of questions, and this is THE place to find the answer.
